As the fall season draws near, Derek Hough is set to revisit his role in Dancing With the Stars as a married man. The pro dancer-turned-judge recently wed his longtime girlfriend, Hayley Erbert, in a ceremony held in Monterey County, California on August 26. The beautiful and intimate wedding took place in a redwood forest, surrounded by the couple’s nearest and dearest family and loved ones. Here’s what we know about the amazing couple and lovely event:

In front of over a hundred guests, Hayley Erbert and Derek Hough exchanged vows, with the ceremony being officiated by Hayley’s brother. Donning a custom duchess off-the-shoulder satin gown from Marchesa and a long veil, the 28-year-old bride looked stunning. Meanwhile, the groom, 38, sported a stylish black Tom Ford suit to complete the look. As Hayley walked down the aisle of her wedding, a special rendition of Unconditional by Richard Walters (who rewrote and recorded the song especially for the couple) played. Here’s a possible rewording: After the ceremony, Hayley slipped into a stunning white lace dress with a tulle skirt and a detachable train. The striking gown was also custom-made by Marchesa!
According to People magazine, several notable celebrities, including Julianne Hough (Derek’s sister and Dancing With the Stars co-host), Alfonso Ribeiro (DWTS co-host), Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson (fellow dance pros and happily married couple) were among the guests present at the wedding. Other celebrities in attendance included former dance partners Maria Menounos, Shawn Johnson and Amy Purdy along with actresses Frieda Pinto and Nina Dobrev, and Nina’s boyfriend and Olympian Shaun White.

Derek and Hayley, a former gymnast and DWTS troupe member from Kansas, first met in 2014 during his live tour with his sister Julianne, which she tagged along on. Soon after, the two began dating, and finally got engaged in June 2022, with a beautiful ring from Paris Jewellers which she flaunted at the 2022 Critics Choice Real TV Awards. “It’s only the beginning,” Derek posted on Instagram, “the beginning of forever.”
On August 25 2023, just a day before their wedding, Hough shared a touching message for his partner and a lovely video montage, featuring numerous photos and videos of them together. The sentimental video was set to a newly recorded song he wrote for his now-wife, titled Hold Back Time. “I sat down at the piano, thinking about our relationship and the massive step of committing my life to you,” the judge and pro dancer shared on Instagram. “The amount of life we have already shared is pretty incredible. This video is a just a tiny snippet of what we’ve already experienced.” Hayley then went on to comment, “I love you from the deepest depths of my heart. Thank you for choosing me in this life.”
