“Elemental” is rewriting the Disney+ premiere playbook, ranking among the platform’s Top 10 premieres ever. Directed by Peter Sohn, the animated film has become Disney/Pixar’s most-watched animated feature since “Turning Red.” It also holds the distinction of being Disney+’s biggest Latin American movie premiere.
Despite a June release, the film was a theatrical sensation, grossing over $484 million worldwide, with impressive ratings and strong showings, particularly in South Korea, where it became Pixar’s top-performing film.
Journey to Elemental City: A World of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air
In Element City, where Fire-, Water-, Earth-, and Air-residents coexist, “Elemental” unfolds. The story follows Ember (Leah Lewis) and her friendship with the easygoing Wade (Mamoudou Athie), leading to a journey of self-discovery.
Denise Ream produced the film, with Pete Docter as executive producer. The screenplay was written by John Hoberg, Kat Likkel, and Brenda Hsueh, based on a story by Peter Sohn, John Hoberg, Kat Likkel, and Brenda Hsueh. The voice cast includes Ronnie del Carmen, Shila Ommi, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Catherine O’Hara, Mason Wertheimer, and Joe Pera.
