After 27 Years Of Marriage, Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee-Furness Announce Split

In a shocking turn of events, Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee-Furness have ended their 27-year marriage. The former couple, who first met while working together on an Australian TV series, confirmed their separation in a joint statement to People Magazine on Thursday.

“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the couple began in a joint statement to People Magazine. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

Hugh and Deborra, who share Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18, continued, “Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”

Hugh Jackman & Deborra Lee-Furness: Relationship Timeline

Their beautiful love story began in 1995, when they met on the set of the Australian television drama Correlli. Despite the fact that they had an instant connection, they took their time getting to know each other. Hugh and Deborra married on April 11, 1996, in a private ceremony attended by their closest relatives and friends, a year after their first encounter.
