During the previous season of ‘American Idol,’ Katy Perry found herself at the center of some controversies. One notable incident involved contestant Sara Beth Liebe, who accused Perry of mom-shaming her during auditions. Perry also made a comment about the amount of glitter worn by contestant Nutsa Buzaladze, which led to some boos from the crowd. Perry played pranks on contestants, pretending they were going home when they were actually staying to compete.

American Idol Season 22 Auditions Begin in August: Show Returns in Spring 2024

American Idol’s 22nd season, which includes six seasons on ABC, will kick off auditions on August 2. The live virtual nationwide search for contestants will take place, and the show is set to return in spring 2024.
