Michael Allio, first introduced to the bachelor nation during Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette in 2020, was the most recent guest on the Trading Secrets podcast. During the episode, Allio revealed to host Jason Tartick that he and Danielle Maltby had broken up.
“It’s still incredibly fresh,” began the reality TV star. “I guess I’ll just come out with it: We’re not together anymore. It’s not what we planned. We both threw a lot into this relationship, and it’s really awful when it doesn’t work out.” Allio went on to say that the couple is “still working through some things and trying to stay close. Last couple months have been really tough.” Maltby, for her part, has not made any public comments about her dating status.
“When you realize that love is there, but you’re not necessarily compatible, you mourn the loss not of just that person and that friend in your life, but also the future that you had envisioned. And it’s to no fault of hers — she poured everything into this. I just have so much admiration.”
