Netflix has come down hard on the Kevin Spacey front-lined drama House of Cards<\/em> following actor Anthony Rapp\u2019s allegations that Spacey forced himself upon him in 1986 at his own apartment when the former was 26-years old and Rapp was just a 14-years old kid.<\/p>\n

Following Rapp\u2019s account, Netflix first announced that the series will end with its sixth season that was shooting at the time the news broke out. But now, the company has altogether halted the production on the sixth season itself, leading many to speculate if the plug has indeed been pulled.<\/p>\n

The company has issued a statement that reads as follows;<\/p>\n

\u201cMedia Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night\u2019s news concerning Kevin Spacey. In response to last night\u2019s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kevin Spacey was also working on a movie with Netflix titled Gore, <\/em>that was based on acerbic author Gore Vidal but now reports are indicating that that movie may have been canned altogether as well.<\/p>\n

Spacey issued a statement on social media saying he \u201cdid not remember the encounter with Rapp\u201d but added he was \u201chorrified\u201d by what Rapp described. \u201cIf I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,\u201d Spacey said.<\/p>\n

The Oscar-winning Spacey also used the occasion to announce publicly that chose now to \u201cto live as a gay man,\u201d a move that drew harsh rebukes swiftly online and otherwise.<\/p>\n
