The combined collection for all the movies in the top ten for the Labor Day weekend resulted in a meagre $47.6 million, which is the worst total since the $44.7 million of the year 2000. \u201cThe Hitman\u2019s Bodyguard\u201d grossed an estimated $10.3M over the Friday-to-Sunday portion of the holiday frame which was almost identical to last weekend\u2019s take. This was the third weekend on top for the Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds-fronted action-comedy which boosted its total to a sturdy $54.9 million.<\/p>\n Source: YouTube<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n The horror hit \u201cAnnabelle: Creation\u201d took the second spot for the third week in a row as well, earning $7.3 million and taking its total to $89 million and passing the $84.3 million grand total of its 2014 predecessor. The four film-old \u201cConjuring\u201d universe has now passed an eye-popping $1.15 billion worldwide with the average budget for each movie not passing $2 million.<\/p>\n What has been the most surprising aspect of the last few weeks of slow box office receipts is the ascension of the Elizabeth Olsen and Jeremy Renner-fronted thriller \u201cWind River\u201d. The mystery that began its platform run somewhere at the bottom of the chart three weeks ago has been making encouraging strides ever since and now sits at the third spot with a $18.3 million total including $5.9 million for the past weekend.<\/p>\n The rest of the top five was comprised on animated \u201cLeap!\u201d which ended up adding $4.9 million to its meager $11.4 million and \u201cLogan Lucky\u201d, the Steven Soderbergh comeback \u00a0that made $4.4 million and has amassed $21.5 million to date.<\/p>\n With the summer of 2017 coming to a close, the top-grossing films of North America all happen to be comic book movies \u2013 \u201cWonder Woman\u201d at $408.9 million, \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2\u201d at $389.7 million, and \u201cSpider-Man: Homecoming\u201d at $323 million.
