The Barbie movie’s soundtrack, curated by Mark Ronson, has achieved a remarkable feat on the UK singles chart with three tracks entering the top five positions within a week of the film’s release. It’s the first time this has ever happened! In addition, a total of six tracks from the soundtrack made their way into the top 40.
The BBC reports the list of successful singles, including Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For” at number three, Dua Lipa’s “Dance The Night Away” at number four, and Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s “Barbie World” at number five, among others. Even Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken in the movie, secured a spot on the chart with his heartfelt ballad “I’m Just Ken” sitting at number 25.

“Nobody said no. Everybody was really excited. It was a perfect symbiotic relationship of the music driving the movie and the movie driving the music. Once you saw the movie and how well the music works, as soon as they left the theatre people went out and got the album.”
