The ‘How You Like That’ singer has had a crazy year. Jennie has been getting more into acting and films and we’re all here for it. First she made her debut at the Met Gala, then an impressive premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and now she is making her Hollywood debut in the new upcoming (albeit a little controversial) series ‘The Idol’ alongside Lily Rose-Depp. Now, rumors have it that Jennie is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe and they are receiving a lot of social media attention.
According to rumors, who will Jennie play in the MCU?
Allkpop recently shared a new rumor which claimed that this BlackPink member, Jennie Kim, is joining the MCU as a character named Luna Snow. Also known as Seol Hee, she is a newer character who was created by ‘Marvel Games’ for the mobile game ‘Marvel Future Fight’ and made her first appearance in the ‘War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #1’ comic book. Luna Snow was part of the K-pop group 4LIT before she gained her icy superpowers, which makes Jennie a fitting choice for this role in live-action. Jennie allegedly got an offer from a few MCU executives whose attention she captured recently, with the project called ‘Team Agents Of Atlas’, which centers on an Asian superhero squad.
What does Jennie Kim’s managers have to say about this role?
BLACKPINK’s agency, and ultimately Jennie’s managers, YG Entertainment has finally addressed these rumors of Kim receiving the spectacular offer to star in the MCU. The company issued a very brief statement on the matter saying, “It is not true that Jennie received an offer to star in a Marvel project.” We’re all bummed to hear that one. Fans are still speculating that it could be a possibility if Marvel is able to see how Jennie fits this role like a glove. The beautiful, talented, singer-turned-actress has proved her skills more than enough after her portrayal in ‘The Idol’ as Dyanne.
