Gunn’s first production as co-leader of DC Studios with Peter Safran is a Superman feature. Gunn recently announced that Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, and Mister Terrific would be featured in the plot. About this decision, the director simply stated, “They fit the story I’m telling. Story always comes first/”Aside from these major characters, the introduction of three new characters was recently announced in Superman: Legacy, with fans speculating that this move was pushed on Gunn by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav in order to attract possible purchasers. When James Gunn saw the rumor, he rejected it, saying on Threads, “Of course not.”
