One of Manifest‘s lead cast is set to make a guest appearance in the newly announced second season of NBC’s Quantum Leap reboot. Melissa Roxburgh, who played Michaela Stone in the Netflix smash series, has been identified as the actor! According to TVLine, this thrilling news was disclosed during the San Diego Comic-Con, when the first eight minutes of the episode starring Roxburgh were screened.
What is Melissa Roxburgh’s role in ‘Quantum Leap’?
As far as we know, Roxburgh appears in the episode screened at SDCC as a member of the air force entrusted with bringing a mysterious package to New Delhi. However, problems begin developing when their plane is suddenly shot down before reaching its goal. The contents of the container were not shown in the first eight minutes of the program, but it’s reasonable to assume that it’s something crucial. Producer Martin Gero recently hinted that Season 2 might feature some fascinating guest stars including Melissa, Francois Arnaud (starred in Midnight Texas), P.J. Byrne (Shazam! Fury of the Gods), and Aaron Abrams (Hannibal).
“It’s coming along great. It’s fantastic, the season premiere is maybe our biggest episode yet. It feels ginormous, and is really fun. We’ve been able to get some phenomenal guest cast for Season 2 that we’re not ready to announce yet. It’s bigger and bolder and feels more emotional and fun.”

What is season 2 of ‘Quantum Leap’ about?
Quantum Leap season 2 is essentially a reboot and a continuation simultaneously of the previous series, however it currently lacks the involvement of original star Scott Bakula who is perhaps one of the major stars for Season 2 that haven’t been confirmed yet. In any case, the new series’ concept is evidently similar to the previous Quantum Leap, except this time the show follows a different leaper. Raymond Lee plays Ben Song, a physicist working on Quantum Leap who, like Dr. Sam Beckett, finds himself leaping from one body to the other at various points in time.
The original series’ creator, Donald P. Bellisario, returned to work on the reboot with Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt. Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park, Nanrisa Lee, Ernie Hudson, Susan Diol, Georgina Reilly, and Walter Perez co-star alongside Lee. NBC recently revealed that Quantum Leap will debut on the network, October 4 at 10 p.m. ET. The episodes will premiere on the network’s streaming service, Peacock, the next day.
