HBO has announced the premiere date for the “True Detective: Night Country,” featuring an ensemble led by Jodie Foster and Kali Reis. Fans can mark their calendars for January 14 as the series launch date, and to add to the excitement, HBO has dropped a compelling new trailer!

It comprises six riveting episodes and will be available for streaming on HBO Max. The talented Issa López serves as showrunner, writer, and director for all episodes.

HBO’s True Detective installment, initially scheduled for a 2023 release, has been postponed to January. Casey Bloys affirmed that the delay was a result of the recent strikes, including the concluded WGA strike and the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

“We put it in January because I wanted to make sure that we had Issa [Lopez] and Jodie Foster available to talk about it.”

In “True Detective: Night Country” the eight members of the Tsalal Arctic Research Station mysteriously vanish during the long winter night in Ennis, Alaska. Detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) must confront their own darkness to solve the case.

The cast includes Finn Bennett, Fiona Shaw, Christopher Eccleston, Isabella Star LaBlanc, and John Hawkes, with guest appearances by others. Jodie Foster is an executive producer, along with several others. Producers include Princess Daazhraii Johnson, Cathy Tagnak Rexford, and Sam Breckman.
