The Use Of Avada Kedavra In Hogwarts Legacy May Have More Implications In The Future

When Hogwarts Legacy was announced, many people were concerned that it would not live up to their expectations. And, despite J.K Rowling’s controversies, it’s amazing that the game still managed to find a global audience. While the game isn’t perfect, fans can’t get enough of the world and getting to visit Hogwarts.

While there is no morality system, there are several dark themes explored within the game, including allowing students to use the three unforgivable curses. True, this game takes place before Harry Potter, but even in this timeline, these spells are frowned upon.

Horcruxes are not mentioned in the game.

Even casual readers of the Harry Potter series are aware that Horcruxes play an important role. After all, Voldemort was able to create Horcruxes thanks to the Avada Kedavra spell. In The Hogwarts Legacy, it is possible to use the same spell to end the lives of even the most difficult enemies, but the protagonist does not end up creating a Horcrux.

We are also not permitted to cast this spell on civilians, other students, or teachers, which means that playing as a particularly evil character is out of the question in this game. And since there will be no DLC or expansion, we can’t hope for that either.

The incorporation of Horcruxes into future games.

With the amount of money that this game has made all over the world, it is almost certain that it will get a sequel, which means that we may get some sort of morality system where we can choose to make horcruxes if we want. I’m not sure how this would affect gameplay because it could make the player character quite powerful, but it can be done with some limitations.

Overall, it’s always fun to play a light character, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to let the player choose where they want to fall on the moral spectrum in a sequel.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Would you like to see Horcruxes in future Hogwarts games?
