Creative Overhaul: New Team Steps In For Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ TV Series

The popular Marvel Studios’ Daredevil series has undergone some changes behind-the-scenes with its creative team including a showrunner as well as new directors. The hiring of a showrunner represents a new direction for the superhero studio, indicating that it will utilize more traditional television production models like pilots, series bibles, and showrunners. What is ‘Daredevil’ about?

Daredevil is among Marvel’s longest-running projects, formerly starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer turned superhero, in three seasons on Netflix in the mid-2010s. The series, as well as its spinoff Punisher, were recognized for their graphic violence and action. Marvel opted to return to the tone of the original series and viewed a creative overhaul as the best means to achieve their goal.
