We’d have to wait until next year.

When the sequel was announced, fans were concerned that it would not be the same and would instead be a cash grab based on nostalgia. However, you’ll be relieved to know that Michael Keaten is resuming his role, which is all we could have hoped for. Not only that, but Jenna Ortega from Wednesday will play Lydia’s daughter. Tim Burton said the following when the sequel was officially announced in April 2023.
Nothing is out of the question. I am working on ideas and things but it’s all very early days. We’ll see how it goes. How’s that for a none answer?

Jenna Ortega has become a household name since her role as Wednesday Adams in the titular series. She has also appeared in a few other Tim Burton-produced projects. However, she was concerned that she would never be able to appear on the big screen, and film is where her heart is. So this sequel has been a huge boon for her, and you can see what she had to say about the four episodes of the spin-off The Addams Family series in which she previously appeared.
All I’ve ever wanted to do is film. I was scared that by signing on to another television show it could prevent me from doing other jobs I really wanted and cared about.

When it comes to reprising the role, Michael Keaton hasn’t given a definitive answer, but everything points to a yes, which is a relief for fans. The only thing that concerns us is that he will also be busy playing Batman in The Flash, which stars Ezra Miller.
Whatever actors end up playing the roles in this film, we do know for certain that the sequel will be released on September 6, 2024.
