Dan Stevens to Bring New Dimension to Korvo on ‘Solar Opposites’ After Justin Roiland Gets Fired

Justin Roiland is a famous voice actor and comedian who is best known for creating and co-starring in the animated series ‘Rick and Morty’ and ‘Solar Opposites’. Recently, he was fired from both shows amidst heavy controversy surrounding his relationship with his ex-wife, Brynn Putnam. Dan Stevens, a British actor known for his roles in ‘Downton Abbey’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, and ‘The Guest’, will be now be starring in ‘Solar Opposites’ instead.

What will Dan Stevens role be in ‘Solar Opposites’?

Dan Stevens, a renowned actor with a penchant for dry wit and sardonic humor, has been tapped to replace Justin Roiland as the voice of Korvo in the animated comedy series ‘Solar Opposites’. Stevens is a fitting choice for the role, as he has a proven track record of bringing complex and nuanced characters to life. ‘Solar Opposites’ is a dark, absurdist comedy, and Stevens’s performance would help to balance out the show’s darker elements with some much-needed levity. Korvo is one of the four main characters in the show, an alien who is always trying to find a way to return to his home planet due to his severe distaste for planet Earth.

Hulu’s ‘Solar Opposites’ returns for Season 4 on August 14, 2023. The show has also already been renewed for a fifth season, and fans are eager to see how Dan Stevens will portray Korvo and what new escapades the characters will have in the upcoming seasons.

“Korvo is a complex and fascinating character. He’s a brilliant scientist, but he’s also deeply cynical and misanthropic. I’m really enjoying exploring his dark side. I’m also looking forward to working with the rest of the cast. They’re all so talented, and I know we’re going to make something really special.”

Why was Justin Roiland let go from the projects?

Justin Roiland was fired from ‘Rick and Morty’ and ‘Solar Opposites’ in January 2023 following domestic violence allegations made by his former partner, Brynn Putnam. The charges were eventually dismissed, but Roiland was still let go from the shows. Adult Swim, the network that airs ‘Rick and Morty’, said in a statement that they had “ended their association” with Roiland “due to the ongoing investigation into the allegations of domestic violence.”

20th Television, which is the production company behind ‘Solar Opposites’, and the show’s creators issued a statement saying that they “understand that the charges against Justin Roiland have been dismissed” but they “still believe that his behavior was unacceptable”. They further went on to express their support for domestic violence victims. Roiland has denied all the allegations made against him and has also expressed his disappointment about being fired.
