“I’m honored that our film is able to open this year’s BFI London Film Festival. It is a festival that inspired me so much growing up, one that I followed excitedly from my bedroom on the other side of London. It feels extra-special that Saltburn, this very British tale of excess, is able to make its international debut at the wonderful BFI.”

Emerald Fennell’s ‘Saltburn’ to Open LFF: A Thrilling Showcase of UK Talent
This year, festival head Kristy Matheson presents her first LFF edition after taking over last year. She chose “Saltburn” as the Opening Night film, directed by Academy Award winner Emerald Fennell.
Matheson praised the expert craftsmanship, exhilarating plot, and exceptional performances, showcasing a depth of UK talents both on and off-screen. The film’s early 21st-century pop bangers soundtrack adds to its allure.
While LFF holds the International Premiere, the film’s fall debut location is still under wraps, with speculation pointing to the Telluride Film Festival.
