The time has come for another season of the mega-hit show Game of Thrones to end. For the fans that have been following the show from day one have been dreading this day ever since Season 7 started because they know that the end of the entire show is coming sooner than they like. Season 7 of Game of Thrones premiered on August 27th, 2017 on HBO and fans completely lost it as they watched the episode.

The last episode before the finale was shocking and had dedicated fans screaming at the top of their lungs because of all the plot twists and shocking discoveries the episode released to them. It made fans hungry for episode 7 and it was a long, dreadful week as they counted down to the epic finale. Game of Thrones has its habit of killing people that fans love and creating a plethora of plot twists in one episode, so fans were eager to see what this episode was going to bring.

The Long Awaited Meeting.
The meeting finally happened with Cersei and Daenerys and fans were on the edge of the seat as they discussed the issue at hand. Jon, Tryion, Davos, and all the members on Daenerys’ team were apart of this meeting and were desperately trying to get Cersei to join their forces to stop the Night Walkers from entering the North and potentially the South. It was a frustrating scene to watch because we all knew Cersei wouldn’t agree to fight with them and we were all praying she would so they could finally defeat the Night King and his army. Trust me, this meeting was one where you FELT how the actors were feeling.

As the meeting continued, it looked like Cersei wasn’t budging, so The Hound showed Cersei, Jaime, and Euron a wight The Hound and his team captured during the epic fight in Episode 6 of Season 7 and that convinced Cersei that the Dead army was real. The only thing she wanted was for Jon to remain in the North, but Jon refused to listen and follow the command given by Cersei, so she decided to not fight with them. Fans started to pull their hair out and panic at the thought of Daenerys, Jon, Tryion, The Hound, and the rest of Daenerys’ noble people not having the Lannisters fight with them.

Tryion saved the day, though, ad convinced Cersei to side with Daenerys and fight the Night King and his army once and for all so the North and the South would remain safe. Fans were full of joy at the thought of Cersei finally having a change of heart, but they soon went back into sorrow as Cersei revealed to Jaime that she lied about supporting Daenerys and she wasn’t going to be supporting her in The Great War (the fight against the Night King). I know for a fact that I was completely speechless during this scene and I’m sure the whole fanbase was beside themselves.
We saw Jaime stalk off, but do you think he’ll come back to Cersei?

Sansa vs. Arya
Lord Balish is THAT character in Game of Thrones– he is always doing behind the scenes work. He manipulates people into believing him and doing what he commands them to do, he tears families apart and makes them fight with each other or against other families because of the lies he spreads, and he is just a straight up liar. And that’s exactly what he tried to do with Sansa in this episode. He tried to turn Sansa away from Arya and convince her that Arya was there to kill her.

So, what happens then? Sansa brings Arya into a meeting where she stands in front of Brann and Sansa, as well as Lord Balish, and starts to say that she is being tried for murder and treason. All of the hearts drop in the room when Sansa says this and everyone starts to panic for Arya’s sake, but then Sansa speaks the name “Lord Balish” and everyone cheered as it was finally time Lord Balish got what he deserved. He proceeded to try to explain to Sansa why he did the things he did and was trying to save his own life, but Sansa wasn’t having it. With one quick nod, Sansa gave the order to Arya, who finally killed Lord Balish. The fans felt a sense of triumph during this scene because Lord Balish was truly an awful man on the show- and his death was well needed just like Joffrey’s was.

Who Is Jon Snow Really?
Ever since Jon Snow got introduced on the show, he was always known as Ned Stark’s bastard son. That all changed tonight, though, when Sam and Gilly returned to Winterfell and Sam went to go talk with Brann about why he has returned. Brann informs Sam that he is now the three-eyed raven and he could see into the past and the present. As their conversation continues, it is revealed to the fans that Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark were madly in love and got secretly married together so they could officially be together. During their time together, Lyanna became pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy- Jon Snow. His real name isn’t Jon, though. His real name is Aegon Targaryen and this means he is the true heir to the Iron Throne.

It’s exciting and crazy, right? Jon is actually a Targaryen, he isn’t a bastard, and he’s the heir to the Iron Throne! Well, fans soon stopped cheering for this moment because they realized that Daenerys is Jon’s aunt and before they made the connection, Jon and Daenerys were already sleeping together. I know, it’s a little weird and everyone was screaming at their screen to stop, but clearly no one listens to the fans.Nonetheless, fans finally figured out who truly belonged on the Throne, but grew concerned. Daenerys is powerful and has a strong head on her shoulders, so fans are wondering what is going to happen between her and Jon when they find out his true identity and they’re already speculating about what she may do to him once she hears he is the true heir to the Iron Throne.
The Final Scene.
This is one of the most intense cliffhanger finales ever for this show- and maybe for television history. We all know that one of Daenerys’ dragons was killed by the Night King and that he brought him back to life as a Night Dragon, but we had no idea what was going to happen next (or maybe we did just a little). The Dead army marched itself to The Wall and that is where the cliffhanger started.

The Night King rode in high and mighty on his dragon and destroyed The Wall in just a few moments, potentially killing Tormund. This scene sent fans into a frenzy and made them scream as the Night King and his army marched their way through the hole in the wall the dragon had created. The wall was destroyed, people were dead, and the Dead army was moving its way beyond the wall.

It was a finale like no other and fans lost it when the screen went black after seeing the army walk past the wall. It was something that everyone kind of saw coming, but we were all secretly hoping that it wasn’t going to happen. This episode was full of major plot twists, action, and shocking revelations that left the fans in awe and speechless. It is one of the best finale’s the show has ever had and now the fans are eagerly waiting for Season 8.
Season 8 isn’t going to be out until 2019 (potentially), which is heart breaking for fans because we all want to know what happens NOW. It’s also saddening because it is confirmed that there are only going to be six episodes in the series finale and they’re going to be jam-packed with action, information, and more intense plot-twists. The finale to Season 7 was shocking and a roller coaster of emotions from all of the information the fans found out during it, but it was truly an unforgettable one.
Make sure your calendars are marked the second the release day is out for Season 8. It’s going to be the season you DON’T want to miss.
