Recently, in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Jessica accused the comedian of emotional abuse, controlling behavior, isolating her from her friends and family, and more. She claimed to have felt “trapped” in the relationship as Cannon would say things like “I’m the one who’s got the keys to your career. You’re nothing without me.” and would have her question her worth. She also added that he would call her “just a pretty face” in a very derogatory way, saying that she has nothing to worry about and ultimately leaving her feeling confused and upset.
White also claimed that Cannon was controlling and would use his power and influence against her often. Allegedly, Cannon’s behavior made her feel like she had no agency in her own life. It’s also worth nothing that this isn’t the first time Cannon has been accused of mistreating a partner. Mariah Carey, Brittney Bell and Melissa Scott have also accused Nick of being emotionally abusive and manipulative during their respective relationships with the actor. Scott has even alleged that Cannon was physically abusive towards her. These claims have caused an outburst among fans, with people rallying against Cannon up to the point where experts believe his career might be at risk.

Judging from his reaction to past and also relatively newer allegations, Cannons mantra seems to be “Deny, deny, deny.” He has denied every count of emotional and physical abuse that he has ever been accused of. Since Jessica White’s allegations are quite recent, Nick has reportedly not commented on them outright but has denied it in general terms. In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Cannon said that he has “never abused” anyone and that he is “not that type of person.” He also said that he is “not perfect” and that he has “made mistakes” in his relationships, but that he has never been abusive.
