Scarlett Johansson: New York Premiere Of Asteroid City & Her Dream Co-Star

Scarlett Johansson, the ‘Black Widow’ star, recently attended the premiere of her latest film ‘Asteroid City’ in New York along with her co-stars. She and Jason Schwartzman had a lot to say about the filming experience, the overall movie and the bond between the co-stars, aside from which Scarlet finally let the public know who would be her dream co-star! She also talked about the WGA strike in depth.

What does Scarlett Johansson have to say about ‘Asteroid City’?

At the premiere on 14 June, Johansson told THR all about Wes Anderson and her experience filming Asteroid City. Starting off, she complimented his set, saying it “is so unique because Wes is never worried about time.” Aside from this she also credits him, as he is “never worried about having to get to the next shot or how many shots in a day or what we have or haven’t completed” either. Continuing this train of thought, she began speaking on a tangent about how how Anderson is “really is so present in the moment of the scene work that you’re doing that I think it just allows for such creative freedom because you really can sit in a scene and you have all the time to discover new ways in.”

Aside from Scarlett, Jason Schwartzman noted about his relationship with Wes saying, “I was fortunate enough to meet someone that I really connected with when I was young, and we’ve somehow managed to be able to have a really honest friendship and working relationship that is based really on sharing.”

Who is Scarlett’s ideal co-star?

Her long tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe made Johansson no stranger to A-lister co-stars. Recently, she starred alongside Jason Schwartzman, Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Bryan Cranston, Steve Carell, Maya Hawke, Jeffrey Wright, Jeff Goldblum and Adrien Brody in ‘Asteroid City’. Even with all of that, throughout her long list of starry ensemble celebrity co-stars, there’s still one actor she yearns to work with. “I’d love to work with Tom Cruise,” she told THR at the premiere for the film. Cruise seems to be her dream co-star, and what a collaboration that would be! Fans are already excited at this new prospect.

Watch Scarlett in this new movie which follows the “world-changing events that disrupt the itinerary of a 1955 Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention in the desert” on June 23, 2023 when it releases wide!
