Fans have been waiting for any news about the sequel to the 2018 Spider-Man game, and it appears that our prayers have been answered. Tony Todd, Venom’s voice actor, recently tweeted about how excited he is for the upcoming game and also mentioned when it will be released.
Fans were surprised because they hadn’t heard anything from Insomniac since their hit spin-off Miles Morales: Spider-Man. We did get a teaser in 2021 and knew it was in the works, but aside from the trailer, there hasn’t been much news about the highly anticipated sequel.
Tony Todd announced the Spider-Man 2 release date on Twitter.
Looks like September! Massive publicity coming in august. Commercials start dropping in august so I’m told. Hold on to your … and hold breath! Gonna be necessary
Tony Todd
We don’t know if this is the actual release date or if it was a mistake on his part, but I’d guess the former. He did try to retract it later, blaming it on jet lag, but fans were not having it.
For the time being, we only know that Miles Morales and Peter Parker will be fighting alongside each other again, and the main villains of this game are Kraven: The Hunter and Venom. It’s understandable that Insomniac wants to be certain about the game before announcing it, but fans are eager for any information they can get, and Tony Todd was more than willing to provide it.
The game is expected to be released in September 2023 according to Tony Todd, but everything else is unknown at this time.
