Wang Bing and Peter Greenaway to Receive Special Recognition at IFDA Doc Fest

IDFA Celebrates Filmmaker Wang Bing And Director Peter Greenaway

Two influential figures in documentary filmmaking, Chinese documentarian Wang Bing and British filmmaker Peter Greenaway, will be honored at the 36th International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) from November 8 to 19.

Wang Bing will be recognized as the festival’s Guest of Honor, while Peter Greenaway, known for works such as “The Cook, The Thief, His Wife And Her Lover” and “Eisenstein in Guanajuato,” will be presented with a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

During IDFA, Wang Bing’s films will be celebrated, including his groundbreaking “Tie Xi Qu: West of the Tracks” and recent Cannes hits like “Man in Black” and “Youth (Spring).” The program also features “Alone” (2012), “‘Til Madness Do Us Part” (2013), and “Mrs. Fang” (2017). Wang will conduct a masterclass and curate IDFA’s Top 10 contemporary Chinese films, with the selection announcement forthcoming.
