Primetime Emmy Awards are the television equivalent of the Academy Awards – basically the Oscars for TV. And like their film counterparts, they award excellence in TV shows and actors in the States.
The dystopian series “The Handmaid’s Tale” and political comedy “Veep” won the top prizes at the Emmy awards. “Saturday Night Live” was also a big winner on a night dominated by jokes on and about U.S. President Donald Trump.
