MGM: ‘Wrecking Crew’ From ‘Blue Beetle’ Director Will Star Dave Bautista & Jason Momoa

Blue Beetle director Ángel Manuel Soto has found his next project: the MGM film The Wrecking Crew, which will reportedly star Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa. The duo were in talks to star in the movie prior to the recent actors strike and now THR has official announced their involvement in the new and exciting project.

What do we know thus far about ‘Wrecking Crew’?

Jonathan Tropper, the mind behind the TV show Warrior, wrote the script for Wrecking Crew and signed the contract before the writers’ strike began in June. The project is being produced by Jeffrey Fierson, who worked with Momoa on the TV show Frontier. Directed by Soto, Wrecking Crew is being marketed as a buddy comedy and no further details have been provided yet.

Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista & Ángel Manuel Soto: Recent Projects

Jason Momoa recently portrayed the antagonist in the most recent installment of Fast & Furious, Fast X. His latest projects also include his return as Aquaman in December’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom alongside Amber Heard. On the other hand, Dave Bautista recently appeared with the Guardians of the Galaxy crew in the third film of the sprawling superhero franchise, as Ángel is celebrating success with Blue Beetle. “We wanted to see our history and our legacy on the big screen, in a way that is respectful, and that was an opportunity that we didn’t want to miss,” Soto recently remarked to THR about his work on the film.
