Since its initial release, Marvel has had a string of bad luck with Blade. It had previously been paused, and it is happening again, but this time due to the writer’s strike. The writer’s strike began while the film was still in pre-production.
True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto was called in only a week before the strike to spearhead this film, reuniting him with Mahershala Ali. At the end of the day, time simply ran out, and nothing could have been done.
The last hiccup for the film Blade occurred in September 2022.
The film was first announced at Comic-Con in 2019 and has since encountered several setbacks. The first issue arose when the previous director, Bassam Tariq, left the production for creative reasons.
That is why Nic Pizzolatto was hired. While the film is scheduled to be released on September 6, 2024, we are unsure how the writer’s strike will affect the release date. After all, no one knows how long the strike will last; it could even last six months, but experts say this is unlikely.
People have been waiting for the vampiric superhero Blade to appear on our screens, but it appears we will have to wait a little longer if recent events are any indication. Although no other cast members or roles have been confirmed, Mahershala Ali will play the titular role of Blade, alongside Mia Goth, Delroy Lindo, and Aaron Pierre.
