“Young Sheldon” is the spin-off of “The Big Band Theory,” which will feature a 9-year-old Sheldon during high school. The wait is about to end as this highly anticipated series will be released on September 25th.
What will the prequel of The Big Bang Theory be about?
The US television network CBS commissioned a spin-off of its hit series “The Big Bang Theory.” The story will cover the youth of the protagonist Sheldon Cooper and it will be emitted from September.
The original series revolves around the characters of Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki), physicists employed by the California Institute of Technology, a university located in Pasadena (east of Los Angeles).
Sheldon Cooper’s awkwardness and eccentricity, whose intelligence is far above average, make him relatively inept for life in society. This is one of the main comic arguments of the series.
What can we expect to see?
The new series, called “Young Sheldon,” will feature a 9-year-old Sheldon when he’s already in high school. With an IQ of 187, this boy finished high school at age 11 and got his first doctorate at 16.
Sheldon will be played by Iain Armitage (8), who has appeared in the HBO series “Big Little Lies.”
Details of “Young Sheldon”
Chuck Lorre is one of the creators of “The Big Bang Theory”. He participated in the script of the new series next to Steven Molaro, one of the executive producers of the original one.
The first episode will be directed by Jon Favreau, author of “The Book of the Jungle” and some sequels of “Iron Man”.
Parsons, Galecki and Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny in “The Big Bang Theory”, are the highest paid actors on American television. They earn approximately one million dollars per episode, according to the specialized press.
