Colleen Ballinger’s Ex-Husband Comments On Her Ukulele “Apology” After She Denies Grooming Allegations

Colleen Ballinger, the YouTuber known for her (honestly cringeworthy) alter ego Miranda Sings, has been accused of grooming a bunch of her young fans. In response, Ballinger has denied the allegations and actually released a song on the ukulele about it on YouTube. However, her ex-husband, Joshua Evans, has now spoken out about the controversy, saying that Ballinger’s behavior was “gaslighting” and that this is the true face of the YouTuber.

What has Joshua Evans said about the grooming allegations?

Evans and Colleen divorced after one year of marriage, and seven years of dating, in 2016. He replied to the controversy surrounding his ex via Twitter, first clarifying that this wasn’t personal and he was not using the situation for a YouTube comeback. Joshua agreed with the hordes of people who are angry at Ballinger for her “pedophile behavior” and her maddening ukulele non-apology. “This behavior was my reality anytime I spoke up & disagreed with her actions & rhetoric during 2009-2016,” Evans tweeted on June 28. “I was gaslit too. I was made to feel like I was always the problem. Any pain I felt was an inconvenience and was belittled.” He further went on to add that, “My voice is only here to help validate those that are hurting, nothing more. I have no need to make any money off of this. That is gross & not in my heart, whatsoever.”

What is the summary of the controversy surrounding Colleen Ballinger?

Colleen Ballinger has been accused of many many heinous things, most of them which are present in recorded evidence. YouTuber KodeeRants recently shared screenshots of a purported text exchange between Colleen Ballinger and her young fans. The unverified group chat, titled “Colleeny’s Weenies,” allegedly showed Ballinger asking fans their “favorite [sex] position” during one conversation. Keep in mind that these are underage fans, minors, children. There is also video evidence of Colleen putting a kid’s hand down her pants on stage during one of her live-shows, and another of her displaying a minor sexually in another show and making a “fart joke.” Not so long ago, she sent another young fan her lingerie, and admitted it.

In a musical vlog posted on June 28, Colleen Ballinger denied the allegations of grooming and forming inappropriate relationships with underage fans. While playing the ukulele and singing, she compared the accusations to a “toxic gossip train” that was headed for “manipulation station,” while the rest of the internet “tied her to the tracks and harassed her for her past.” Continuously acting like she was the victim, Ballinger kept saying uncomfortable things during her non-apology video. Refuting the allegations, she said (or sung), “I just wanted to say that the only thing I’ve ever groomed is my two Persian cats. I’m not a groomer. I’m just a loser who didn’t understand I shouldn’t respond to fans.” Social media users did not receive this well at all, and for good reason. Keeping in mind that she herself is a mother to three children, Yikes.
