When it comes to the DC universe, Nicholas Hoult has had a string of bad luck. Not only was he passed over for the role of Batman, but the same thing happened when it came time to cast Superman. Only a month ago, it was revealed that Nicholas Hoult was in the running to play Superman in the new DC universe reboot directed by James Gunn. Fans of Nicholas Hoult hoped to see him in the lead role, but he was passed over yet again.

Nicholas Hoult has a successful acting career and is a fantastic actor.

Most people remember him for his infamous role in Mad Max: Fury Road, but he has also appeared in a number of other X-Men films. However, it is clear that he aspired to be a leading man, but that was clearly not in the cards for him. While he had already lost a starring role in Top Gun: Maverick, the fact that the same thing happened with Batman didn’t help matters. However, after seeing Robert Pattinson in the role, he was satisfied.

I think Matt Reeves’ ideas were fantastic and he made a brilliant movie. And I also think that Rob [Pattinson] did an amazing job with the character, and I loved seeing him in it. So I don’t think I would have done as good a job as him ultimately. I don’t think I could have fit as well into the world that Matt created as Rob did.

Will the fans see him become a villain?

When they tell you for the first time that it’s not you, it’s painful, but then you have to accept it as normality. I think that’s probably a strength of mine as an actor as well. I can accept that they didn’t cast me pretty well and when I see the chosen actor doing a great job, and I enjoy it, and it’s good, I’m like, ‘oh yeah, they made the right choice. They knew what they were doing.’ So it’s not like I’m sitting there like, ‘Oh, I’m not going to watch it now.’

When it came to casting Superman, Nicholas was in the lead, but the role ultimately went to David Corenswet. However, some sources claim that James Gunn wanted him to play Lex Luther rather than the red-caped hero. And we all know that Hoult has the ability to play a wacky villain, so it may be interesting for fans to see him in the titular role of Lex Luther, but after all of this, he may not accept.
