Squid Game (오징어 게임) is a South Korean thriller survival drama TV series that were created for Netflix by Hwang Dong-hyuk in 2021. Season 2 was announced last year by Hwang through a letter he wrote in which he mentions that “a whole new round is coming.” Now, finally more details on the second season have been revealed.
Which members of the cast are returning for season 2 of ‘Squid Game’?
Netflix unveiled the teaser trailer of ‘Squid Game’ season 2 on Monday, revealing old and new players in the series. The returning actors include Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Gong Yoo and Wi Ha Jun. Lee Jung Jae will be again playing the cash-strapped everyman Seong Gi-hun who is apparently back for a second round. The masked character for ‘Front Man’ will also be back. Oh Yeong-su, who played the elderly and complicated Oh Il-nam has yet to be confirmed as a returning member. Aside from this, Kang Sae-byeok, played by HoYeon Jung, will also return in the next installment. Four new players are confirmed to join the show, portrayed by Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon and Yang Dong Geun.

What will happen in ‘Squid Game’ season 2?
The nine-episode first season follows the Game from beginning to end which the main hero Seong Gi-hun wins after a lot of plot-twists, betrayal and gut-wrenching drama. After all that is over he learns that the game is still continuing and vows to stop the game once and for all. This is how the first season set itself up for another installment. There is no official statement yet on what will be the plot of the second season but there is a lot of speculation that Gi-hun will join the Game again in an attempt to get behind the evil masterminds behind it and stop it from happening another time.
