The Boys Stars Claim Season 4 Is “More Intense” Than We Thought

The Boys is a critically acclaimed superhero TV series that has been praised for its dark humor, social satire, and graphic violence. The show follows a group of vigilantes known as “The Boys” as they battle corrupt superheroes. Season 3 premiered in June 2022 and was a huge success, with Amazon Prime Video reporting that it was the most-watched season of the show yet. The season ended with a major cliffhanger with fans are eagerly awaiting Season 4. Now The Boys stars are claiming the content in the superhero satire is getting to a whole new level.

What can we expect from season 4 of ‘The Boys’?

Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara and Jessie T. Usher, some of The Boys stars, hyped it’s fourth season up at Florida Supercon during a panel appearance.”I will say Season 4 is more intense than any other season,” Alonso began. “The stakes are higher. Everyone is at the point where they’re gambling more than they ever have.” Fukuhara continued that train of throught, adding that the show’s next season will feature “new fluids,” with Usher commenting: “They broke out the periodic table of elements and added two things because of the show.” Alonso also teased a scene involving Fukuhara, which he said was so funny he broke down in “uncontrollable tears.”

This tracks with previous remarks by their co-star Simon Pegg, who warned fans that Season 4 will be “crazier” than ever before. Pegg, who plays Hugh Campbell Sr., also revealed that he will have more screen time in the new season, appearing in as many as four episodes. Some of these scenes will see Pegg act opposite Rosemarie DeWitt, who joins the Prime Video series as Hugh Sr.’s ex-wife. Pegg described the fourth season as “a lot of fun” to shoot as well.

When is season 4 of ‘The Boys’ set to come out?

To watch all this intense fun, fans might have to wait longer than the expected date. Showrunner Eric Kripke has said that he is confident that the show will be back on our screens in 2023, but he has also indicated that the WGA strike could delay the show’s return until at least 2024. However, it is unclear how much the strike will actually delay the airing of this season. In the meantime, fans can catch up on the first three seasons of The Boys on Amazon Prime Video.
